Giga is a mobile provider in Singapore that sells a few SIM-only plans that operate on the StarHub 4G network. There are four main SIM-only plans on offer, which all operate on 30-day renewal cycles. All Giga mobile plans come with free caller ID, incoming calls and inbound SMS. Unlike its StarHub network owner, Giga doesn’t offer Corporate Individual Scheme (CIS) mobile plans.

Giga SIM-only plans

The cheapest Giga mobile plan costs $10 per 30 days. It comes with 10GB of data, 500 minutes of outgoing calls and 500 outbound SMSes. This SIM-only plan also has 10GB of data rollover for up to two renewal cycles.

Giga’s next mobile plan costs $20 every 30 days. It comes with 50GB of base data. At the time of writing, this plan also came with 50GB of bonus data for the first three renewal cycles. Use the GIGADATA code at sign-up to claim the bonus data. This Giga plan also comes with 500 minutes of outgoing calls and 500 SMSes. There are also two renewal cycles of data rollover, up to 50GB.

Spend $25 every 30 days with Giga for a SIM-only plan with 60GB of base data. At the time of writing, users could enter the GIGADATA code during sign-up for 60GB of bonus data for as long as they keep renewing. This Giga plan also comes with 2,000 minutes of outgoing calls and 2,000 outbound SMSes. The data rollover is for two renewal cycles for up to 120GB.

Giga’s last main SIM-only plan costs $45 per 30-day renewal cycle. It has 100GB base data. At the time of review, this plan also had 100GB of bonus data forever using the GIGADATA code at sign-up. Data rollover supports up to 200GB for two renewal cycles. This plan also includes 10,000 minutes of outgoing calls and 10,000 outbound SMSes. Giga data plan

Giga also sells a GigaBuddy Data-Only Plan. It costs $3.90 per month for 1.5GB of local data, and it’s available to existing Giga customers. Giga users with this data-only plan can roll over up to 1.5GB of data across two renewal cycles. This data-only plan is compatible with Giga data add-on packs.

How to sign up for a Giga mobile plan

Follow these steps to sign up for a Giga mobile plan:

Download the Giga app for Android or iOS.
Follow the sign-up steps for a Giga mobile plan.
Insert the Giga SIM card when it arrives.

It’s also a straightforward process to transfer your number from another mobile provider to Giga:

Download the Giga app for Android or iOS.
Select ‘Port-in Number’ during plan sign-up.
Insert the Giga SIM card when it arrives.
The port-in is processed on the next work day.
Tap the ‘Activate’ button in the Giga app to complete the mobile number transfer.

Giga referrals

Every time a Giga customer successfully refers a person to Giga, they earn GigaBucks. This Giga credit is $2 for the first referral, then $4 for every referral afterwards. It caps out at 10 referrals for up to $39 worth of Giga credit. The referred person pays a reduced fee for the first month.

Giga roaming

Giga users can purchase roaming packs up to three months before travelling overseas. These roaming packs activate automatically once a Giga user arrives in one of 48 eligible countries. Incoming and outgoing calls while travelling aren’t supported, plus only inbound SMSes are allowed. Choose from the 1GB GigaRoam APAC Pack for 14 selected Asia-Pacific countries or the 1GB GigaRoam Rest of the World Pack for 34 additional selected countries.

Giga and Gomo both offer SIM-only mobile plans with 30-day renewal cycles. Both mobile providers compete closely on price, data, minutes and SMSes.

Is Giga under StarHub?
Giga primarily uses the StarHub 4G network. Alternatively, Giga users can pay $10 a month for a 5G Pack.
