When it comes to the SIM-only plans in our comparison engine, we take a wide array of factors into consideration. For starters, there are the basics. All of our monthly plan winners and runners-up come with most minutes and text in Singapore, plus we tend to lean towards SIM-only plans with no contracts. We like no-contract plans because it’s easier to switch when a better option comes along.

After the basics, our first key consideration is price, but not just promotional pricing. To help offer a fuller picture of actual costs, we evaluate price in terms of first-year value, which helps separate actual great pricing from a limited-time promotion that may not offer better value in the long run. For promotional pricing to be considered, it has to last at least six months.

The other big consideration with any phone plan is how much data it comes with, and SIM-only plans are no exception.
