The ‘Seniors Go Digital’ programme in Singapore has seen the creation of elderly-focused mobile plans from participating providers. These participating mobile providers are also the network owners: namely, M1, Simba (formerly TPG Telecom), Singtel and StarHub. The catch is, these seniors plans aren’t overly competitive, which is why we’ve made our own better-value picks. Before we get into those, here’s a list of popular seniors-friendly mobile plans from our comparison engine that don’t cost more than $30 a month.
What is the Seniors Go Digital programme?
Seniors Go Digital is a programme by the Singapore Government that aims to create simple and affordable plans for seniors. To be eligible for these seniors-branded plans, you need to be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident who is 60 or older. M1, Singtel, StarHub and Simba (TPG) offer mobile plans as part of this programme.
Prices range from around $5 to more than $130 per month. Typically, prices are cheaper than equivalent mobile plans available to the public. While a few plans are no-contract, most include a contract. Data inclusions range from 2GB up to 120GB, not including bonus data.
Most of these mobile plans are 4G but some include 5G speeds. Call minutes range from zero to up to 10,000 or unlimited local calls. SMS allowances range from zero to 1,200 texts.
To sign up, users typically must verify their eligibility and may have to visit an M1, Simba, Singtel or StarHub store. For comparison, here are some popular plans from participating ‘Seniors Go Digital’ mobile providers that don’t cost more than $30 a month.
Best seniors mobile plan overall
We recommend starting comparisons with the M1 SIM Only 1024GB Plan. It’s a better version of the similarly named M1 SIM-only Plan and Singtel Seniors Go Digital SIM Only Plan, both of which are part of the ‘Seniors Go Digital’ programme.
The M1 SIM Only 1024GB Plan costs $17.95 every 30 days and has no contract. It comes with a huge 1024GB of data, 1,100 minutes of outgoing local calls and 1,100 outbound local SMS messages. This M1 plan also includes free registration, incoming calls and inbound SMS. There’s also unlimited calls to three M1 numbers, plus limited-time unlimited weekend data and included caller ID.

Best cheap seniors mobile plan
Of the mobile plans that are part of the 'Seniors Go Digital’ programme, there are a few choices under $10 per month. Simba Seniors, Singtel $5 Mobile Access for Seniors Plan and StarHub 4G $8 SIM Only. All of these aren’t as good value as Eight's 228GB Sim Only plan, which comes in at just $8 per month and is packed with great inclusions.
This Eight mobile plan comes with 228GB of data on the StarHub network, along with 10GB of APAC roaming and 2GB international roaming. It also comes with 588 minutes of outgoing local calls, 288 IDD minutes, and 88 outbound local SMS messages. Features include free caller ID and incoming calls and texts.

Best data seniors mobile plan for big data
There are plenty of mobile plans in the ‘Seniors Go Digital’ programme with more than 50GB of data. Singtel's Seniors Go Digital Lite, Core, Plus, and Ultra plans, and StarHub Star Plan Senior, for example. They’re all more expensive than the MyRepublic Classic Plan, though, and have significantly less data.
This MyRepublic mobile plan costs $14.90 a month for a massive 400GB of data on the M1 4G network. If you go over the data cap, speeds are managed until the next renewal cycle, so there are no surprise excess data fees. It also comes with 400 minutes of outgoing local calls and 400 outbound local SMS messages. Features include free caller ID, incoming calls and inbound SMS.

Best seniors mobile plan for call minutes
Many familiar ‘Seniors Go Digital’ plans offer plenty of call minutes, as much as 10,000 minutes or unlimited calls. Singtel Seniors Go Digital Plus and Ultra Sim Only plans and StarHub Star Plan Senior all offer 1000 minutes or more. But it’s much cheaper to go with SIMBA's 200GB SIM Only plan than any one of those.
This SIMBA mobile plan costs just $12 a month with no upfront fee. It comes with a generous 200GB of data, 100 SMS messages, 7GB of data roaming in selected countries and 400 IDD minutes. More importantly for this category, it comes with unlimited calls to local mobiles, though it’s restricted to 500 minutes for local fixed-line calls.

Best seniors mobile plan for 5G access
Several familiar plan names offer 5G network access as part of the ‘Seniors Go Digital’ programme—namely, Singtel Seniors Go Digital Sim Only plans and Starhub Star Plan Senior. But there’s cheaper pricing and better value from the Gomo 5G Value SIM Only mobile plan.
This Gomo plan costs $18.33 every 30 days with no initial fee. The price includes 300GB of base data for use on the Singtel 5G network (with a compatible 5G mobile phone). The Gomo 5G Value SIM Only mobile plan also comes with 800 minutes of outgoing local calls and 800 outbound local SMSes. You'll also receive free caller ID, incoming calls, inbound SMS and SIM card delivery.
